Honestly, this makes sense. In Virginia, most of the cases are clustered in Fairfax County, and it would make sense for Fairfax and Arlington and Alexandria to make the shelter in place decision. But why should people in Tazewell County, in the far southwest of the state, should have to do the same in a county that has reported very few cases (if any)?

Here, schools are closed on a county-by-county basis. My system is closed until April 6. I'd say at least another week will get tacked on when we get closer to time. I prefer taking it as we go instead of just "end of the year" right out of the gate.
Most restaurants are carry out only. Our County Mayor closed all local government offices today.

Because people are walking around infectious who don't know they're sick yet?

I mean, yeah, I get that. But everyone in the state is dealing with the social distancing/closed dine-in stuff, etc. It's not business as usual there. A shelter in place seems over the top. Might as well go to national lockdown at that point.

You’re giving him too much credit by thinking he’s actually reading. It’s someone telling him what the talking points are.

Will the Secret Service come after me if I offer the opinion that the entire country would be better off if someone shot Jared Kushner?

“He Can’t Make Any Big Decisions”: As the Crisis Escalates, Trump Experiments With a Pivot

"Trump’s view that he can ignore Fauci’s opinion may be influenced by advice he’s getting from Jared Kushner, whose outside-the-box efforts have often rankled those in charge of managing the crisis. According to two sources, Kushner has told Trump about experimental treatments he’s heard about from executives in Silicon Valley. “Jared is bringing conspiracy theories to Trump about potential treatments,” a Republican briefed on the conversations told me. Another former West Wing official told me: “Trump is like an 11-year-old boy waiting for the fairy godmother to bring him a magic pill.” (The White House did not respond to a request for comment.)"

Noticing a lot more social media posts from armchair virologists, ranters, blamers etc. Guessing we're at anger and bargaining now.

Denver stay-at-home order goes into effect at 5 p.m. Tuesday and lasts until April 10. Only businesses deemed essential will stay open.

Liquor stores and recreational pot dispensaries will close. Medical marijuana dispensaries will stay open. Guessing any remaining restaurants that are open for takeout and delivery will close too.

No other surrounding cities are doing this so people will just go to those cities to get what they need.
