I didn’t think there could be a worse leader or a worse human than Trump. I was wrong. This guy deserves to get the virus.

The sequel is often worse than the original.

Harrelson being a conspiracy theorist is very on-brand for some of his roles.

This is awful and heartbreaking. No way around it. If they were residents they were also likely young and healthy. I've heard a ton that the media is actually underreporting this. It's hard because media can't get into hospitals and most doctors and actual frontline workers probably aren't talking, but while I think most realize how bad it is, it still doesn't hit home to far too many.

Great! The virus that you very well might be carrying will be aerosols that spray even further when you work out, and can linger in mid air for hours. Of course the same goes for the other fit people working out on your trail.

Most aren't talking, I'm sure, because they've been told not to. Wasn't a Washington doctor fired last week or two weeks ago for speaking up?

Yes, but I think more because of the conditions in the hospital that the powers who be wouldn't address or attempt to help out with and he spoke out against it. Not that that made it right that he got fired. Most doctors aren't going to say stuff because they have more important things to do right now and it's not in their nature, but I appreciate the ones who do give little insights like this as hard as it is. I've seen lots of comments in private, and it's bad.

I'm not getting on media for this. It's an impossible thing to report. You can't get into hospitals and those who matter aren't talking, and they probably shouldn't be for the most part. It's more for those who say the media is overreacting or why aren't we seeing anything from hospitals (I've seen plenty ask that question), when it's actually not reality.

I was out for a second this morning and saw tons of people out exercising, very nice morning here. Saw two people with masks. That's it. I haven't been to a store since the mask order, guessing most there have them. But exercising or just being outside, think that's going to take a lot more convincing.

Yup, I was out walking for about a half-hour. Lots of people out walking, running, biking. They closed most of the roads in the nearby park to allow better distancing. I'd say 10 percent had masks/bandannas on. But people are very conscious about avoiding passing people more than 6 feet away.

We are definitely wearing a mask to go to the store, although we are trying to do that as little as possible. We are taking a several mile walk every morning, but heading out at 5 am to try to avoid people.

BTW, we found a tutorial on making a pleated mask. We had some elastic here. I took an old thick, cotton button down shirt and we used the sleeves to make the masks. They turned out surprisingly good -- although good is a relative term, because I have no clue if the virus looks at our masks and laughs its virus ass off.

We got word this morning that one of our neighbors died. I'm still trying to find out if it was COVID-19 or something else. He was in his early 50s and I don't know of any underlying medical conditions. My wife went to high school with his wife and my daughter has been a babysitter and pet sitter for them.

To be honest, I think we're going to start seeing people die from other conditions who would have normally survived if not for COVID-19 and the strain it is putting on our medical resources. Actually, I think that is already happening, but we haven't heard much about it yet. I don't just mean lack of medicine and supplies, though those are certainly issues. I'm thinking of doctors not being available or avoiding seeing patients in person. I've had a couple of virtual doctor's visits. I still don't know what I had last month that led to me getting the COVID-19 test that came back negative. Those virtual visits don't do much. No blood pressure test. They can't look down your throat or in your ear. They can't listen to your heartbeat or lungs. They ended up just giving me an antibiotic and eventually I felt better. I'm not saying what I had was anything serious. I am saying that things that would have been caught fairly easily by a doctor are going to be missed.

The other issue is people not wanting to go to the hospital or the doctor when they should. I can certainly want to stay away from such places for fear of getting the virus, but what if you have something that needs to be treated and you don't get it?

The impact of this thing just goes so far beyond the people directly dying from COVID-19. But yeah, it's just like the fucking flu.
