Not a shock that four of the six are solid Trumpist and a fifth, Ohio, is headed that way.

We've been hearing about President Trump dismantling departments and leaving jobs unfilled since he took office. We couldn't always see the results, but they are certainly on display now. The federal government response has been erratic and slow, in part due to his direction from the top and in part due to damage he did before this all started.

Of course, this was going to hit us anyway and people were going to die, but it also seems like it is going to be much worse than it should have been.

Exactly. Once upon a time we would be the lead dog in these situations. Now we're a lapdog at best.

Of course, if they don't screen you and they don't test you, they can keep the numbers down and Trump happy.

When you have 15 people, and the 15, within a couple of days, is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done.

That is where President Trump's approach truly disgusts me and it should disgust everybody. He is constantly downplaying this thing and claiming it will be over soon when it is just getting started. This is one of those areas in which false information is literally dangerous and he keeps putting it out there. He actually put it out there that this is a hoax created by the Democrats to hurt him. The right thing to do now would be to admit that isn't true in face of the mounting death total in this country, but he lacks that kind of integrity.

The misinformation is designed to keep him from looking bad and to keep this from hurting him in the election, but it keeps the public confused. I think it may also lead to overreaction by some because they don't actually know what to believe with medical professionals telling them one thing and the president telling them something completely different. So many people just don't know who to trust anymore and that's going to be extremely difficult to fix even if we have a new administration taking over in January.
