I can't think of anything that'd drive the Trumpers more out of their minds than if a good percentage of the inhabitants of Fall River, Mass. or Queens or East LA began moving to northern Wisconsin or central Pennsylvania or western Kentucky.

They're already starting to get annoyed with them moving to places like Texas, North Carolina and Florida.
Not so much because they come, but because they don't seem to grasp the reasons why they're moving. The migrants tend to leave places like New York and California because of high taxes, high cost of living, and petty local/state laws that encroach on personal freedom (like soda taxes). They move to Texas or Florida because there is no state income tax and greater personal freedom, but then some of the first things they do when they're settled is push for laws that increase taxes, will drive up the cost of living, and create petty local/state policies that encroach on personal freedom. Instead of embracing the benefits of their new home, they try to turn it into an exact replica of the old one. I think it's at least part of the reason we're seeing the Red State/Blue State and Rural/Urban political divide.

It's the cost of housing. Nobody in a working class, hell, middle class job can afford a single-family house in LA or Boston or NYC. But in Houston or Jacksonville it's quite possible. Also, people who move who have children want good or at least better schools, the primary driver of all local taxes.

So are you in favor of the government telling people where to live?

    What a *%_$ idiot.
Translation: We can claim victory and put something on the market that will kill even more black and brown and old people. Win/win.

Jail is too good for Pharma Bro. He should be given the Henry Hudson treatment and pushed into a canoe with no oars in the middle of a vast, cold body of water.

I am not. But arguments are made for and against things all the time, and serious people - who really want to drive at solutions of a given problem - put everything on the table.

The government in many places right now has no problem telling people how to live.

    Temporarily.

So what’s preventing the Trumpist Party from putting this out there?

Wait. Gov. Trumpfluffer, whose daily charts are treated as gospel by Trumpist SEC media/armchair epidemiologists, are wrong? Can’t be.
