    If I had to guess . . .I wouldn't be freaking guessing. How's that for a plan?

Unless he says, "We're going to lock both houses of Congress in a room until we figure out how to stop these incidents from happening," I scarcely have an interest in what he has to say right now.

Nothing against you, DH. And I know he has to do this. But I'm tired of rhetoric.

Well, a Ryan Lanza from Hoboken is quoted as saying the shooter may have had his identification on him.

I've never seen a POTUS cry before today.

Because you can own your assault rifle...

There will be presents for 18 children that will never be opened.
There are pictures, probably still in the mail or on a desk, of a child who sat on Santa's lap last week and is now murdered.
There are 470 children who attend this school, and probably all of them now personally know someone who was murdered.

But you can still own your assault rifle. Sleep well tonight.

Clinton could do it on cue.

    Save it.

    Time and a place.

Without any guessing, this thread ends after the first post.

What a shame that would have been.

Man, this is a tough one. TV talent is either breaking up on the air or when they come on looking like they've been wiping away tears. Not to mention the President.

Maybe he should speak directly to the parents and loved ones of the children who were killed and to a confused, angry and saddened nation. Maybe he should speak as a parent, as a human being, and try to provide some comfort in light of this horrible tragedy instead of making this political right now. Jesus Fucking Christ, why can't people stop for five fucking seconds without trying to one-up each other over ideology? Seriously, I hope to God he's smart enough not to make this a political fight while the bodies of those children are not yet cold. If this incident leads to a legitimate debate on gun control, wonderful. But there will be time for that soon enough. However, our society has become so polarized that I'm not sure such a thing is possible any longer.

I don't disagree, but I'll save more detailed thoughts for the OK Corral at the top of the page. It was intended as an alert to people following developments.
