I want him to strongly pledge to address this problem. I want him to broadly indicate some grasp of the disparate policy arguments. And, then, tomorrow, I want him to strongly pledge to continue addressing this problem. And the next day.

The greatest pain I feel right now is for the moms whose dead children will remain in that hell overnight as part of the investigative process when the moms just yearn to put their arms around them.

Slate can suck a fucking cock. I remember how viral it went went Bush shed a tear in a news conference after 9-11. Some screeched it was s sign of weakness. Others screeched it showed how in touch he was. The right answer is: how do you address this and not get choked up. Shit like this rush-to-judgement-lets armchair-quarterback-immediatelt is why most of the public hates and doesn't trust us.

Can't you both cry and pledge real action? They are not mutually exclusive.

Last time we did that we got Eye-raq and Afghanistan. How'd that work out? And what is he gonna pledge? "We pledge to introduce REAL REFORM which will go absolutelyt nowhere after the NRA and handgun manufacturers flood legislators with PAC money. But hey, you can't say we didn't try."

I shed a tear for the future victims who will die because today was not the day to talk about this.

    Because . . . what's the point?

We know where everyone stands. Just a bunch of screaming.

Have I not already made that point? I'm reminded of the line of the dad in "That 70s Show" in his role as the head of a cocaine kingpin in "Robocop," and that is "Good Business is Where You Find It." There's a dark side of this country we tend to pretend is not there unless it meets with our political justifications and it includes business. If there's a buck to be made, people will cheat, steal, lie, contrive to assist others to have the right to kill by selling them a handgun or assault rifle for the right price. I would love to be idealistic in my view of our society, but I don't trust it further than I could throw one of its members.

What is your evidence that if guns were banned, criminals would still own guns? At the rate they do currently.
