  1. As for needing an ID to vote, I'm OK with it as long as it's not a pain in the rear to get an ID. Four-to-five hour waits at my local DMV is not unheard of.

Uncouple non-drivers' license IDs from the DMV and let counties issue state-approved IDs.

In fairness, the same holds true for buying a gun. If it is a pain in the rear to get an ID it effects everything you need an ID for...so that's not really a valid excuse. I see what you are saying, but don't buy the "inconvenience" angle. I agree you should show ID to buy a gun, regardless of how long it takes you to get it.

Meet the Gun Owners of America, whose job is to not only lobby lawmakers to loosen up any gun laws they can, but also to keep that lefty-pinko NRA from giving in.

An interesting lesson here -- it's not always about how much money you give. It's also about how annoying you are, and whether legislators believe a sizable number of people will base their votes on what they're being annoying about. I believe that's why there are few Democratic Senators left who haven't come out for same-sex marriage -- because they know people will use that as a litmus test for any Democratic candidate. Same with guns for Republicans, especially with established office-holders fearing (with justification) already that they risk being primaried from the right.

DMVs are brutal, but an ID is good for what, four years? And then you renew by mail or Internet? It's a one-time inconvenience. Deal with it.

Tell that to an 83-year-old woman who doesn't drive. Not to mention the circularity of trying to get a copy of a birth certificate, as is required in many places now. Difficult to do that without ... an ID. (Or money. Which is the point.)

Inky's meal would probably be free

Gotta love the quote from "Max W."

No, it wouldn't. I don't believe in open carry as defensive strategy.

But Max is intimidated by seeing his name in print. Tough to shoot a newspaper with your gun.

The restaurant also features swinging doors, a bar with sarsparilla if you don't want a whiskey, an upstairs rooming house/whorehouse, a running poker game, and a piano player who will play dramatic music if trouble starts a-brewin'.

Plaxico Burress is on his phone right now trying to get his agent to swing a deal to the Redskins.

Pretty easy to shoot a TV, though.
