Green is an awful pick when you have Skelton, Hall and Anderson as the potential starting QB.

Drafting a wide receiver number five when you have no quarterback is like trying to build a house by starting with the roof.

Completely agree. But I think Arizona will be in the mix for either Palmer or Kolb. They need to add a QB, but I think this is a team that might be better suited to add one via free agency or a trade than in the draft.

If the Cardinals have Green and Fitzgerald, I think Arizona would be a pretty attractive place for a FA QB to go.

Any possibility Carolina trades the No. 1 if they deem Newton too risky? Off the top of my head, maybe Washington and New England might bite.

Washington doesn't have anything to give Carolina for the No. 1 pick, unless the 10th and 41st overall do the trick. I might go on some kind of rampage if that happens.

I honestly don't know that anyone wants to trade for the No. 1 pick when there's so many questions about the apparent top player in the draft and with a season-killing lockout a distinct possibility. Had Bowers not had his issues, Carolina would take him No. 1 and be happy with it. I could maybe see Tennessee making a play for it if they like Newton and don't think he'll slip to 8 (for better or worse, he probably won't).

I think, at this point, if a team traded for the No. 1 pick, it would be nothing compared to other years when teams usually get an additional No. 1 (for the following year) and a No. 3 to move down just a few spots.

Carolina won't get anything like that for this pick. I think if a team trades up, it would probably be to get Dareus, not Newton.

Hmmm, I could envision the Patriots making a quick call to Elway.

You never say never where Belichick is concerned, but such a deal would be absolutely counter to his past draft m.o.

Just because the Patriots have the ammo to move up that doesn't mean they will.

I just don't see Belichick giving up what I presume it would take to get the No. 1 or No. 2 picks.

The Patriots first three picks are all in perfect places for other teams to come to them when certain players start falling.

I'll be surprised if the Pats don't deal either the 28th pick or the 33rd pick for a No. 1 next year.

Any chance Liut works for a certain organization in Charlotte? :D

Seriously, I wouldn't blame Sonner for any rampage if the Redskins are crazy enough to bite.
