You have to like Middleton's upside.

    And William has good bloodlines.

That's wrong, IIRC. From what I remember, the Vikings picked one or two spots later than they were supposed to. And still got the guy they were going to pick. McKinnie maybe?

They did it two years in a row. They took McKinnie the first time.

So with teams not being able to negotiate with a couple of players to get them to drop their price in order to be number one - the Panthers could conceivably just pass until one or two players go off the board to make the player more signable.
Too bad about the labor impasse this year - I've got to figure a few teams without a qb would trade a number 1 (this year or next year) for a guy like Palmer, Cutler, McNabb, Young or Garrard. This year's crop of QBs all look like trouble.

I agree, to a certain extent. I like Dalton, Mallett and Pointer.

Other than Cutler, I doubt you could get a No. 1 for any of those guys. Maybe a No. 2 for Palmer or Garrard.

My interpretation of Dan's take was a team drafting lower in the first round might bite. Could be wrong, though. Then again, I'm of the opinion you can snare a damn good QB prospect in the second round.

I'm with Mizzou, though. In fact, I wouldn't trade a No. 1 for any of those mentioned.

I'll predict that if Mallett does not get with the right coaches, he will have a short, painful NFL career.

But I know from the past that some people here watch a whole different version of Arkansas football, one in which reality gives way to mythology.

On Thursday I asked a friend "The draft's this weekend right?" When he said No I was very much in disbelief. Can they just have it please?

The Royal Wedding? I don't care at all so I don't pay any attention. The endless mock drafts, which mean little, I'll still look at. So I'd say the draft.

Some of the mock royal weddings I've seen posted are pretty intriguing.
