Fairley is the defensive equivalent to Newton. Or close to it.

AP's mock draft had Fairly going at 30 in the first round.

He could also just as easily be the next Johnathan Sullivan.

    Who?

    Exactly.

If you take a wide receiver with a top 5 pick, he better be at the level of Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgeraldor even Calvin Johnson.

Until the Lions made their 3-year-run on Top 10 receivers, it was actually pretty rare to go in the top 10. Fryar and Keyshawn both had nice careers, but neither lived up to the hype as a No. 1 pick.

Desmond Howard, Michael Westbrook, Charles Rogers, etc... were taken way too high. Don't ask me to explain why Roy Williams isn't as good as expected, I'm still stumped by that one.

Green will go in the 4-10 range.

If he's that low, there must be an injury or a failed drug test out there.

In no way shape or form do the Steelers not draft him if he is available.

He won't be. Fairley will be a top 10 pick. The AP guy either knows something no one else knows or is on crack.

The only way I see his dropping that far is if he brings a gun to the draft and fires it in the air. If he shoots someone, then he drops to the third round.

    Who was the AP writer?

No clue. I had no idea the AP had him going 30th overall until someone posted it here.

I'd have to check, but I think that's the first time I've heard of him falling out of the top 10-12.
