I get what Banks is saying, but it's really simple.

If you don't believe the guy can get it done, DO NOT PICK HIM. It applies to Mr. Irrelevant. It applies even more to a No. 1 overall pick.

I won't get into the Cam Newton mess - at least this time. I think I've made my stance crystal clear.

Mizzou, by no means is Jimmy Clausen viewed as the franchise savior. But he's not broken down, at least physically. Put it in terms that you would understand ... Joe Montana wouldn't have had a chance where Clausen was placed last year. Neither would Sam Bradford, who actually had time to throw and a decent running game with an acceptable offensive line at his disposal.

Gosselin and Mayock have Gabbert going No. 7 to San Fran and that's scaring me...

LaConfora thinks the Dolphins will take Kaepernick at 15.

The rumor is the Raiders are trying to trade into the first round to take Kaepernick. I guess he's replaced Dalton as the flavor of the day.

Kaepernick's 40 time was pretty impressive for a QB. That criteria alone will jump-start Al Davis into some form of life.

Why would the Raiders think they'd need to get into the 1st round to get Kaepernick? Other than LaConfora's belief that the Dolphins want him at 15?

And NOW the misinformation and rumor mill gets going ... took long enough given that the draft is only a few hours away ...

Why do the Raiders do anything?

I know the draft's first WTF? moment last year came from the Jags, but more often than not, it's the Raiders who make a pick that cause the jaws to drop.

There was one of the top QBs in this draft who said he grew up as a Raiders fan. I have no idea if that was Kaepernick, but it might make sense considering he went to school in Turlock, Calif. which is less than two hours from Oakland.

It was a WTF for draftniks but Alualu turned out to be a great pick.

Love to be eyes and ears in the Raiders' war room over the years. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall TV ever getting a sky-cam in there.
