Nicely done ... and not exactly the easiest track to cover. If they can do "Siberian Khatru" as well, then they can try some other progressive tracks that aren't exactly straightforward.

Not sure the vocalist is the weak link. Anderson is not going to be emulated, so this approach is, IMO, the next best thing.

Put it like this ... if you somehow find someone who can cover Neil Peart's parts for Rush, good luck finding someone to be Geddy Lee.

Agree. I think that it's more that the vocal is what stands out as not-Yes. so that was what stood out to my ears.. As you say, no matter who you got, they still would not sound like him.

I was taken aback at how good a Chris Squire emulation it was.

In a review, our music critic called Anderson "the most twee frontman in rock."

That's a fair observation, then and now.

Rolling Stone's latest list is its Top 101 movie soundtracks.
Not a bad list. There's always going to be some notable omissions (Rocky IV, Pure Country) and ones that are way too low (Top Gun and Footloose in the bottom 50) but not too terrible.

    4. A Hard Day's Night

I have some small quibbles here and there, but any soundtrack list that has The Harder They Come at number three is cool with me.

Agree, I have been on a reggae kick lately and that has been one of my go tos. It turned me on big time to Toots and the Maytals.

Good to see American Graffiti in the top 10, the music in that film is as much of a star as any of the actors. It's used perfectly.

And where, oh where, was The Commitments???

I think the Beatles movies shouldn't be on the list. They were just making movies around their songs. I don't think of that as a soundtrack.

Yeah, kind of felt the same way. Magical Mystery Tour is half a soundtrack, at least. The others are a real stretch.
