    I'm sure there has been a roc doc on Heart, but seeing the Wilsons transform into MTV video queens in the 80s is still jaw dropping. They changed their music, their style and spent a TON on hairspray (the sidemen too) - and it worked. They cashed big when they went to Capitol Records. Also probably secured their HOF slot. A few other vet acts seemed to have no problem "adjusting" to the MTV era - Starship, Journey, Robert Palmer, Yes etc.

    I've loved Ry Cooder for damn near 50 years. I was probably on him sooner, but for certain since "Paradise and Lunch" came out in 1974. I was also fortunate enough to see him live at Symphony Hall in Atlanta, opening for Randy Newman at the "Good Old Boys" premiere in Sept. '74. Just Ry, a couple of guitars, a banjo, and a mandolin.
