I imagine him sounding like a growling Patton Oswalt describing the guy who wrote “Death Bed: The Bed That Ate People”: “THIS IS AWESOME!” as he pens “We Built This City” andeveryome around him doesn’t have the heart to tell him.

Seth Avett released a tribute album to Greg Brown and it’s sent me down a rabbit hole. Incredible songwriting.

 

Remember seeing this video on MTV and thinking it was a catchy song and deserved to be a bigger hit.

Turns out the lead singer was Lisa Stansfield, she of the one-hit wonder "All Around the World." She had the pipes but unfortunately she looked a dog.
