Honestly, I don't one way or the other whether they're new or used.

I do know that of the 8 discs, 3 of them were promos and say "Not For Sale" on them.

  2. Keren Ann's new self titled disc is excellent. The new Wilco disc (as others have noted) is really good. And Porter Wagoner gets this year's "Johnny Cash Comeback Award." His new disc ("Wagonmaster") is a nicely produced (by Marty Stuart) slab of traditional country.

The new Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson discs...not so much.

another good site to get CDs cheap:
    http://www.yourmusic.com/enroll/enroll_200605_maroon_features.html

(most CDs are $6.99... box sets are $6.99 per CD in the box set)

Damn. This is going to get expensive.

The place has a goofball selection. I put in the most obscure band I like and it actually has a cd by them, but much more famous bands aren't there.

The new NIN is good, not great. I like Capital G. Then again, maybe I just like it since to me it sounds a little like Closer, a song I think kicks ass.

Yeah, thankfully they didn't have a lot of the newer stuff I searched for, or else I would've ended up dropping a lot more than $25 there.

No offense dude, but the selection on that site blows. I couldn't find anything remotely "indie," and when I clicked on "Alternative Pop/Rock" it brought up The Doobie Brothers, Alanis Morrisette and Pink.

I guess if I wanted to build up my collection of 70s and 80s acts, this site would be OK, but I think I'll pass.

If I could find a site like that with a sizable college/indie selection, I'd be in heaven.

BLESS YOU. I just found a track I've been looking for for years that's not available on iTunes and that I couldn't find anywhere else for this cheap (even with shipping).

Also, try http://www.lala.com and click the "trade" tab at the top - a trader site for cds. List what you got, post what you want, and lala sends you initial packet of shipping material for cds, and you trade away. $1 per cd, plus .75 cents shipping. I've received 4 discs (3 with liner notes) and shipped off 3 so far.

Sorry about that... it used to be good.

You know, it's older now, but I'm listening to "Black Cadillacs" by Modest Mouse, and I think it's the strongest song on Good News... If you just bought Float On as a single or whatever, give this one a try, too. It's crazy, jangly good.
