Flashing Lights off the new Kanye disc owns me right now.

My favorite song off of Graduation. And is it just me or does the beat resemble Justin Timberlake's "My Love" near the hook?

"I Wonder" is up there too. What a beautiful Labi Siffre sample to open the song.

On an unrelated note, I just bought tickets to see Q-Tip and Common in Worcester on October 6.

This is also rumored to be on American Gangster, but I doubt it'll be on the album.

On an unrelated note, I finally bought tickets to see Lil Wayne in Redding on Oct. 7. I'm not sure if I agree with Kanye calling Weezy the "No. 1 hottest rapper in the game" for reasons like having recorded an average of 1.5 songs a day in 2007, but I do know with the drugs that guy is on 24/7, the performance is going to be NUTS.

C'mon, Kingdom Come wasn't that bad...

Kingdom Come rivaled Reasonable Doubt as Jay-Z's worst album

Reasonable Doubt? Are you serious? That's universally regarded as a hip-hop classic and is one of the best debut albums in rap history (right up there with Illmatic and Ready to Die)

Jay's worst album is probably Blueprint 2 (too bland) or Volume 2 (too pop and too many guest appearances)

Maybe I am thinking of another Jay-Z album. I am a big Jay-Z fan, but I must say his Kingdom Come was absolute trash. Half of the songs didn't even belong on his album. The Hollywood song sounds more like a Beyonce song that he was featured on. Say Anything was a garbage track that pretty much should have been on an Usher or Pharrell album. I would rather not talk about the rest, but there are some that made me scratch my head. I enjoyed the Gift and the Curse. Jay did some clever things with it like "The Bounce" and "Guns and Roses". Volume 2 was not the greatest, but Kingdom Come is one of his two worst.

Yeah, i think you're talking about a different album and not "Reasonable Doubt" which is one of my favorite rap CD's of all time and one that I would recommend to anyone.

I think there's some really good stuff on Kingdom Come like 30 Something, I Made It, Beach Chair, and Do U Wanna Ride. I will agree that there was some really bad shit like Anything and Hollywood, though.

Anyway, this American Gangster concept album has promise, movie sounds good too, starring Denzel and Russell Crowe.

I am still going to have to give some of the best rap I have heard recently to Papoose. He rips the hell out of the "I Get Money" beat by 50 Cent and others.

Here's a song of his called "Street Credibility"

It's been burning up on the underground and I hope he puts out a bunch soon.

Papoose is a great MC. He came to my college last year and put on one of the best rap performances I've seen in quite some time.

And of course he has the classic Alphabetical Slaughter to his credit.
