    I'll try it out, thanks.

I also enjoy Acoustic Cafe, a weekly radio show produced up in Ann Arbor and archived on MLive: http://www.mlive.com/cafe/

Ari Hest and Fountains of Wayne were recent guests. Fantastic show.

I love you. I've been asking people to point me to poppy music...I love the four songs they have on their Myspace page. And I think "Moneymaker" is awesome as a stripper song.

I'm going to get their stuff.

Feds Seize Master Tracks From Death Cab’s Chris Walla

    http://mog.com/Parker_Reynolds/blog_post/118857

In the oddest news of the day, the master recordings to Death Cab’s Chris Walla new solo album were seized by U.S. Border Patrol agents. The masters were on a computer’s hard drive that was taken from a courier, back on September 16th, who had agreed to transport it from Hipposonic Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia to Seattle-based Barsuk Records.

“I don’t know what red flag could possibly have gone up at the border,” Walla told the AP “It’s so baffling to me.”

The courier was released and allowed to take the mixed songs on tape he had also been transporting, but not the computer. The computer was to be examined by computer forensics experts.

Luckily for indie rock fans, the master recording had been backed-up on another computer. So despite the fact that border officials are now returning the album, Walla’s new album Field Manual will still be delivered on January 29th.

Does anyone know anything about Bishop Allen? I have a concert of theirs downloaded off the NPR podcast of All Songs Considered. I just started it, but it sounds kind of like what I've been looking for: Poppy, melodic music with less mainstream attention. Anyone have anything else they can tell me?

Yeah, saw that, but it only gives me like five songs. Was looking to see if anyone else dug them or what I could expect from non-singles on the CDs.

Not that I'm really bringing anything new to discussion since I'm sure this song is very old, but "Sewn" by The Feeling... damn.

I'd never heard of The Feeling, but a girl I'm dating played this track for me tonight and I'm absolutely obsessed with it.

Kinda hurts my hardcore music image, I guess.

My favorite disc of 2007 so far is Summerbirds by Rod Picott.
If you like stuff along the lines of Springsteen, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits and similar artists he's definitely worth giving a listen.
You can hear samples of all the songs on the album at cdbaby.com (for some reason the board software won't let me post the exact URL)

Most of my female friends love Rilo Kiley, and I don't have a problem with them. The new album is OK, but I liked the old stuff better. "Silver Lining" has one of the unique beats that gets stuck in your head for days.

And on another topic, I'm starting to get irritated with people who don't appreciate Queens of the Stone Age as one of the best current rock bands. Everything they put out is great. The CD they put out this summer just had another single released — "3's and 7's" — and I think it could very well be the best rock single released this year, or at least in the discussion.

The missus and I are going to her first Wilco show this weekend, when they close Voodoo Fest on Sunday night. Anybody else going? We'll get to NOLA on Saturday afternoon, but nothing fest-related until Sunday.

Downloaded the new Radiohead the other day ... I love this CD.
