In an effort to connect with my teenaged daughter a few years back I began to listen to "her" music. One of my favorites from that time is Puddle of Mudd. I am excited to be able to finally see them in concert next weekend at Buzzfest. Also can't wait to experience Atreyu live as well.

However, the most recent concert I attended opened my eyes to a realitively unknown artist: Matt Nathanson. He opened for LifeHouse and put on an amazing show. It was one of the best musical sets I've had the pleasure to be a part of in a long while.

Picked up a CD at Joseph-Beth's when I was home, one of their staff recommendations. Girl named Melody Gardot. Very smooth stuff. The blurb on the front of it compares her to Billie Holiday. I can see a resemblance. But I like it very much.

Agreed on all of this (although I never got to see them before they broke up). "Snap" is a very good compilation -- though my one beef is that it only had 2 songs from "Sound Affects" when it was first released on CD, and I think that's their best album by far. The newer version of "Snap" only adds one more -- "Man in the Corner Shop," which is one of my favorites.

Just discovered this guy named Hayes Carll. Country, but the alt-country kind. Very Ryan Adams-ish. Singer/songwriter type. Great voice, great lyrics.

I get to see Theory of a Dead Man, Finger Eleven, Chevelle, Puddle of Mudd, Seether, 10 Years, My Chemical Romance, Filter and 3 Doors Down live in 4 days, 14 hours and 33 mins. And in between sets I get to chill in the VIP room.

    That is all.

OK, I've finally decided to really give Dylan a try. Never been a big fan. But given my love for song lyrics and singer-songwriters in general, I figure I should. My boss burned me Highway 61 Revisited, so I'm gonna give that a listen or three tonight.

OMG! I forgot to mention Atreyu. My daughter would disown me if she visited this board. Shes doesn't, so I'm safe. Whew!

    What, no Slipknot?

All those bands and they couldn't find one with talent.

No Slipknot. Also appearing that I failed to mention is Red, Billy Talent, Sick Puppies and Story of the Year. Since I'm not too familiar with their music and it's Texas and summer has arrived, I will probably be in the VIP room cooling down. I'm not as young as I used to be. I have to pace myself at these all day concerts.

Wow, Dreunc! Strong statement there. I happen to disagree with you. I'm most excited about Puddle of Mudd, Finger Eleven and 3 Doors Down. Oh yeah, and Chevelle & Seether.
