Anyone familiar with Ryan Bingham? Heard one of his songs - "Bread And Water" - online the other day and really liked it, reminded me of early Steve Earle. Anyone know if his album is worth checking out?

Holy shit, man. Knowing your tastes, I can't believe you haven't delved into Dylan. Highway 61 Revisited and Blood on the Tracks are my favorites, so I would suggest starting with those two.

Anyone heard Weezer's first single off of The Red Album yet? It's called Pork and Beans. Sounds like a return to form...quirky, lame, extremely catchy, and really good.

Several Springsteen fans whose opinions I trust on music were raving about him. I bought his disc and was underwhelmed.
However I'm anxiously awaiting getting my hands on the new Old 97s disc.

Eight days from now, my 14-year-old son and I are road-tripping to Vegas to see the Dropkick Murphys at the Hard Rock. It's one of three U.S. shows (San Francisco and Honolulu being the others) the DKMs are performing en route to Australia.

After the show, we're crashing for five hours or so, then driving the 3-hours, 15-minutes back at pre-Oh-Dark-30 because he has a soccer tournament.

I just picked up "The Age of the Understatement" by The Lost Shadow Puppets.

Best album I've heard this year.

This absolutely sounds like something no one here would get into, but the new Joe Jackson album is pretty good. It's just him, bass and drums.

I finally got around to checking out the new Atmosphere album "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold," and I highly recommend it to fans of hip-hop in the vein of Mos Def, et al. Really solid record.

My favorite album of the year, by far.

Nice looking out. I went out and bought it...excellent, this will go down as one of the best hip-hop albums of 2008.
