Terrific single, the kind of thing you never hear anymore. For a bit there it was the summer of 1982 all over again. A promising beginning, no doubt. Good to see Bun E. laying it down.

Pretty good stuff. I'm always up for ear candy. Plus, that's like three-plus decades of power-pop represented here.

If "supergroups" can still exist, maybe there's hope for newspapers. :)

New U2 album is out this week. Just listened to the first single, Get on Your Boots. I hope the rest of the album is better.

    Included is this tidbit.

I'm also excited about the Clapton/Winwood tour this summer. Saw them together at the Guitar Festival in 2007 and they were amazing. Ads mentioned that you could pre-order the live CD or DVD, so I imagine they'll put on a good show.

Any cover of any George Michael or any Wham song is akin to a criminal offense.

Thanks to Pandora, I stumbled upon a band/artist called Citizen Cope.

Anyone heard of him? He's from Brooklyn and I really dig his songs. Nice voice, good for work background noise.

Seriously, check out 'son's gonna rise' by citizen cope. It's blues and funk goodness.

Justin Hawkins, former lead singer of The Darkness, has a new band called Hot Leg. It, too, sounds like Queen!

Thanks for the Justin Hawkins update, SP. I loved The Darkness and the new music sounds good, too (although I think his voice sounds more like Robert Smith than Freddie Mercury)

One of my friends introduced me to a Philly band called Dr. Dog. Don't know if any of you have heard of them, but their 2008 album "Fate" is one of the best rock albums I have heard in years. Definitely a strong Beatles influence.

    Dr. Dog is great, bb.

Check out their earlier album, We All Belong. I think it's much better than Fate.
