Deer Tick, Low Anthem...great to see RI-area bands representing in Tennessee.
    I smell a Plant-Krauss reunion...for "Battle of Evermore," anyway.
So Karen Elson landed on the bill...I'm more interested in seeing what her spousal unit does with Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson.
    Buffalo Springfield reunion...heavy.
Will it be safe to put Em in the same green tent with AF by then?

Was just listening to the new CD from Hawk Nelson and kinda enjoying it. Then I found out their a Christian band. I hate when that happens!

Although I haven't heard them say Jesus once.

For those of you in the Northwest ... another solid lineup at the Sasquatch Music Festival, Memorial Day weekend at The Gorge in central Washington:

    http://www.sasquatchfestival.com/#/

Headliners are Foo Fighters (Friday), Bright Eyes and Death Cab for Cutie (Saturday), The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse (Sunday), Wilco (Monday).

Also featured in Monday's lineup are The Decemberists, Old 97s and Guided by Voices, among others.

Would love to be there myself on Monday, but the chances of me getting Memorial Day off ... slim and none.

Speaking of Foo Fighters, the song from their new album (due in April) was released today:

Lots of crossover with Bonnaroo. Sasquatch is going to be good. With better weather.

Copped ducats for both Bonnaroo and the AF show in Dallas on April 30. This is going to be a good late spring.

  7. Maybe, but Jack is a hell of a lot better with her than without her. I like a lot of his bandmates with the Raconteurs and Dead Weather, but every time I listen to one of their albums, I can't help but wonder what Meg brings that makes the White Stripes so much better than either of those bands.

If you want to pick up a great little slice of Americana, get Amanda Shires' new disc out today - Carrying Lightning.
I've had an advance copy for a few weeks and don't get tired of listening.
    Here's a review that gives it an 8 out of 10 - http://blurt-online.com/reviews/view/2992/
Here's YouTube for several songs on the album:

    Lovesick I Remain -

When You Need A Train It Never Comes -

    Swimmer -

For those fans of Texas music along the lines of Butch Hancock or Joe Ely, here's a video of her covering "If You Were a Bluebird"

Cool scene in London last night, as David Gilmour made good on his pledge to make an appearance on Roger Waters' "The Wall" tour:

Besides the chance to hear the duo together on the Floyd classic "Comfortably Numb," I guess it's good to know that maybe, as these guys head toward old age and retirement, even people with Rock Star-sized egos can forgive each other.

Life's too short to keep on hatin', regardless of income bracket.

My first concert was Pink Floyd at the Horizon in 1988. For spectacle, nothing since has come close to topping it.

Finally downloaded Jason Isbell's latest Here We Rest. He seems to have found his voice as a new-era soul singer/songwriter. I miss his rock side, though.

Florence + The Machine's second album drops Nov. 7 in the UK, and probably Nov. 8 in the States.

Here's the first single "What the Water Gave Me":
