The guy who runs this blog also hosts a weekly show on Sirius XMU radio. Great show. Really good variety.

Variety is what I like. I want to find new things. May be old, but I ain't dead yet.

I like shows that like because you get to hear newer stuff, but also some of the stuff that inspired/influenced it. It's cool to trace musical roots like that.

Something called Macklemore is this year's Little 500 show at my glorious alma mater.

So . . .who is this guy? Can he fill a 17,000-seat arena?

Maybe. He's been floating around the top of iTunes' top tens for quite awhile:

A buddy of mine suggested MOG. He said the quality of the playback on MOG was better. They cost about the same.

The new album by The National "Trouble Will Find Me", which will be out May 21, is streamimg on ITunes. Incredible. It's not quite the rocker I was hoping for, but it's High Violet with a little more stripped sound. Lyrically, it's clear the band is reaching middle age. Fewer lyrics about 3 a.m. drunken nights and more mature thoughts about life. Less neurotic, more assured. The sound is again rich. Quirky time signatures. Understated synths. Another beautiful album.

The second video, "Sea of Love"

New Jason Isbell, which has been streaming for a week, is out today, available on Spotify and such.

    It's incredible.

Been looking forward to this. His live album was probably my favorite record from last year.
