I think Diane Birch should be huge. I don't know if she will be, but she should be.

This was her doing her mini-hit, "Nothing But A Miracle," with Daryl Hall.

I watched OutKast at Coachella via live stream last night. It was great. Janelle Monae even came out for "Tightrope."

Fun three nights of coming home to Coachella after work. Bummed the Replacements weren't on the webcast, but enjoyed Broken Bells and, dammit, he's gotta be pushing 70, Bryan Ferry put on a GREAT show. His voice may not be what it was in the '80s, but he had a terrific band (and judging by his drummer and sax player, the man can still "recruit" with the best). I swear he pinched the dinner jacket from Don Cherry.

If I'm feeling really ambitious tonight, Pharrell will bridge me from the Pixies to the Pet Shop Boys.

Then Sunday, Beck and Arcade Fire to close the show (stole a peek at AF's Lollapalooza show in South America last week - you do not want to miss this. As a 12-piece, they might be even better than three years ago).

For The National lovers in the crowd, a couple beautiful covers from foreign female singer/songwriters. First, there's Coeur De Pirate, a Canadian who usually performs in French. She just put out an album of covers in English. The whole thing is worth checking out. One of them is Slow Show:

That reminded me of seeing a Brazilian singer/songwriter open for a band back in December, and she did a cover of Start a War:

A great moment from Coachella. A legend, and a legend in the making. It began with a near-broken hip, and ended beautifully.

So Paul McCartney has added some U.S. summer dates. Which one of these August cities seemingly doesn't belong?

    Aug. 2 Target Field, Minneapolis

    Aug. 5 Washington-Grizzly Stadium, Missoula

Aug. 7 Energy Solutions Arena, Salt Lake City

Aug. 10 Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles

Aug. 12 U.S. Airways Center, Phoenix

Aug. 14 Candlestick Park, San Francisco

Might have to take a second job so I can afford tix to see this living legend ... within a few hours of my humble abode. Maybe I'm Amazed!

The equivalent of having the game of your life.

    This is great.

This is more than a decade old now, but I find myself watching the entire thing every few weeks. It's "The Robbie Williams Show," a BBC special around the time of his "Escapology" album. Outside of 15 minutes about a third of the way through when he makes like Sinatra, this is Williams at his absolute best. "Strong" at 10:48 ... I could watch those four minutes over and over and over.

Panic on the streets of London, panic on the stage of San Jose ...

Morrissey tackled during song and calls of the rest of the concert.
