First Aid Kit's new album grows on me more with each listen. It's one of my favorite albums this year. They might have my favorite harmonies from a duo this side of The Civil Wars.

Apparently Sir Paul's getting better all the time ... but he still had to postpone his June concert dates until October:

Glad to hear he's over his virus ... and really looking forward to seeing him in August.

This is cool. Four Foo Fighters fans in Richmond get the band to play their town by organizing a fake concert:

I mentioned it above, but the new Strand of Oaks album HEAL is out today and it is most definitely worth a listen.

I'm seeing them live tomorrow and will be interested to see how the album plays out live. They're not necessarily an energetic live band, but they are quite good technically, so I'm optimistic. I saw them during the Hospice tour opening for the National (or Spoon maybe...) and they were very good. I like the album, but I definitely can't have it on as "background" music as I tend to lose focus on it.

Just listened to that ... definitely want to give it a spin in the car so I can listen a little more closely. Was distracted reading stuff while I had it on this morning.

Checking out the new Fucked Up now ... and because I'm a dork, I kind of like Riff Raff's new record.

Antlers isn't really car music because you could lose Peter Silberman's voice amid the ambient noise of driving.

Interesting. Maybe I'll pour a scotch later and listen to it in a dark room.

Just got around to seriously listening to the new Parquet Courts album. Might be better than Light Up Gold, which was fantastic. The only problem with Parquet Courts is that they remind me that It's been 15 years since Pavement put out an album, and that just depresses me.
