    Any thoughts on the new Killers single, When You Were Young?

    It's divided the fans, apparently, but I like it a lot. Probably because it sounds like Springsteen, circa Born to Run, and you can hear Flowers' voice nice and clear.

    Looking forward to the record coming out in October.

    I like it too....although to me, it's a little more Bowie than Bruce. Speaking of singles, I'll continue to pimp the new Mars Volta single "Viscera Eyes"....it's pretty awesome.

    Anybody picked up the new Muse record? I heard "Starlight" today on Ethel and XMU and loved it. I think I'll download it tonight ...

    I love "Absolution." After two listens, I'm not crazy about the new album, maybe because it's too much of a departure from their old sound. It's getting great reviews, though.

    Maestro, thanks for recommending Josh Rouse's "Subtitulo" back in May...unbelievable stuff.

    I'd love to take credit for that, but it wasn't me. I'm not sure who Josh Rouse is ...

    Forget I posted that. ::)

    Give the new Muse record a shot. I'm listening to it now -- it's starting to grow on me.

    Listened to a little bit of the My Lives set of CDs by Billy Joel, mostly featuring demos, alternate versions, live stuff, and stuff done before he became famous. His earliest stuff showed him desperately wanting to sound like the Animals, then like Rubber Soul-era Beatles. And there was a version of Only the Good Die Young that had lost its edge in favor of a lounge-act style. Good thing he corrected course on that one.

    If you haven't listened to Josh Rouse's "Nashville" I highly recommend that album. It's by far his best. Also, you might want to give Brendan Benson a try. Similar style to Josh Rouse, but a little more upbeat.

    I'm loving the Heather Headley CD, for what that's worth.

    No joke. Imagine "Summer, Highland Falls" done in any sort of raucous fashion. Or "Angry Young Man" in a passive tone.
