I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Todd Snider, but he's a really clever singer-songwriter in the alt country/folkie mode, but his latest album, "The Devil You Know," is way more rock 'n' roll than what he usually does. He's back on a major label (Universal), played on Leno the other night and has been reviewed by Rolling Stone, Esquire and Blender this month, which makes us long-time fans both proud and squeamish.

Anyway, it's well, well worth the price. Pick up some of his older stuff while you're at it, too. He does have a greatest hits.

  2. it is time to reveal my guiltiest of guilty pleasures...

That's not a guilty pleasure. That shit is cool in a mainstream radio pop way. It's better than Cassie, Jessica and all that shit.
Plus, Primo produced a good chunk of the first disc, which qualifies it for a pass regardless.

There's a dope remix of "back in the day" floating around with Termanology (dope upcoming cat from Boston) on it.

The only shame is that Nas, Rakim, etc didn't get those dope ass Primo beats.

the roots - the game theory

Bought it the other day. I've only gotten through the first disc. I could have done without the "fuck you Scott Storch" song, but overall, I like it a lot.

    Clubber,

out of the, how can I describe them...indie?...post-modern?...out of the alter-ego favoring genre of hip-hop, who do you like?

I refer to the Deltron/Quas/MFDoom type guys....

Any recommendations? I'm digging The Further Adventures of Lord Quas (or whatever its called) and Occult Hymn was pretty tight, in a goofy kind of way.
