Only because I heard it at the bar last night: "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior.

    Awesome party song.

I think Todd Snider is an alright guy. (And a really good songwriter too.)

If you're curious, XM12 has a replay of an in-studio set he did with them a while back. It runs at midnight ET so you've got another 100 minutes to get ready.

OK, I heard this song on a classic rock station the other day and can't get it out of my head. The problem is, I don't know the name or who sings it.

It starts out slowly with a guitar riff thatis probably very well-known...then it busts into a reggae beat before the lead singer sings a drawn-out "Diane" or "Dying" three or four times before the meat of the song starts.

    Any ideas?

I'm really not sure how to classify The GO! Team and their CD Thunder, Lightning, Strike except for the fact I really like.

I can't begin to say genre but it's a bunch of Brits playing about 1,000 instruments. Really an orgy of sound. Some songs have lyrics or chants while others are totally instrumental.

If you're looking for a sample try Bottle Rocket(my personal fave), Ladyflash or Huddle Formation.

It's real upbeat and a different sound than I normally like.

Thanks for the recs on Todd Snider, Snow Patrol and Scott Miller, those are currently downloading.

I'll also add Robert earl Keen Jr. A lot will know him for 'Road Goes on Forever' but he's got a lot more good stuff than that. Shades of Grey and Blow You Away are really good. No. 2 Live Dinner and Live from Austin Texas are his best. I haven't listened to the Ryman show yet, but I will soon.

    Nice description
And yeah, I'm into that kinda stuff. My favs from that sub-genre:

    - Deltron 3030 (Del, Dan the Automator)
    - MadVillian (Madlib and MF Doom)
    - DangerDoom (Dangermouse and MF Doom)
    - Quasimoto - "The Unseen" -- much better than the Further Adventures... (Quasimoto = Madlib, too)
    - Dr. Octogon (Kool Keith, Dan the Automator)
    - MF Doom - Operation Doomsday

They're playing Dylan's new CD on XM 75 right now. Probably more than halfway through. Some good stuff in there, but for God's sakes, it's Dylan, how would it not be?

EDIT: Never mind, it just ended. It's good stuff, so you should buy it!

Only my second post, I know. But I just finished listening to Bob Dylan's "Modern Times." It's absolutely unbelievable. His last album, Love and Theft, was the reason I quit being a musician, they're just too good.

Also, it's older, but Death From Above 1979's "You're a Woman, I'm a Machine" is still burning up my stereo.

    So there!

Gosh darn you, I was hoping I'd be able to keep myself from making a special trip to Borders tonight to pick up "Modern Times." You just cost me about an hour of my precious time, plus $15!

That's OK, though - I'm so insane about Bob that I bought "Love and Theft" the day it came out - Sept. 11, 2001. I thought the cashier was going to shoot me. It felt inappropriate in a way, but for some reason, I really, really needed to hear it that day. I had been looking forward to it for months, and ... well, it was the first step I took in "not letting the terrorists win."
