Damien Rice's follow up, 9, came out yesterday, got my copy today. In love with three songs, working on the rest of them. I found that O took me a while to really enjoy all the way through, but now it's one of my favorite albums. Any other fans?

the only thing disappointing about Game's album - and I'd have to re-listen to his first one to see if it's similar - is the name dropping. Unofficially, he says "Dr. Dre" 40 times, Snoop 9x, Pac 7x, Big 5x and a variety of other rappers/rap groups an astounding 55x.

no dissses, just throwin names out for the sake of throwin em out. that's pretty weak, lyrically.

I've been listening to a lot of X-Country on XM, just because. I'm really digging Reckless Kelly. Anybody here a fan?

Strange XM song of the day: Flipped to Liquid Metal to find a song called "Bukkake Tsunami" by a band called Cattle Decapitation. I'm sure the song was at least mildly offensive, but I couldn't understand the lyrics through all the growling.

Cross Country on XM is great, especially when they have the call-in request show.

  8. Are you sure you don't have the title and the band inverted here?

Uh, no. Sadly, there's a bad called Cattle Decapitation.

  10. Cattle Decapitation is one of the best spazcore bands around. They're whole stance is that the entire human race needs to go bye bye. This taps right into my nihilistic mindset. They've attracted some attention due to the fact that the band began as a Locust side project.

Top spazcore band of the moment: Daughters

Current release ["Hell Songs"] is a great way to spend 20 minutes of your life. Plus they have the best song titles since Mclusky. Examples: "Crotch Buffet;" "The Fuck Whisperer;" "Pants, Meet Shit;" and the classic "I Slept With the Daughters and All I Got Was This Lousy Song Written About Me."

LSS ... more power to you if you like them, brother. If I'm falling asleep on the road, I tend to throw it on liquid metal ... tends to wake my ass up.

Nice to see RK getting some love. They put on a great live show, and they more than hold their own in the same scene as Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed and Randy Rogers Band.

They just put out a live CD that's pretty solid, and a nice intro for newcomers. Or if you're looking for individual songs to track down on iTunes, try "Crazy Eddie's Last Hurrah," "These Tears," "Vancouver," or "Back Around."
