    One of SI's Where Are They Now? was on Doc Ellis. Interesting tidbit about his throwing a no-hitter on acid, which wasn't nearly as scary as trying to start a game sober. During pregame he forgot how to pitch. He told the catcher he didn't have his stuff. The catcher told him that he'd better find his stuff. So Ellis went to the clubhouse and swallowed a bunch of greenies and a 3-4-5 cups of coffee, went back out, torqued up, and remembered how to pitch again. Fascinating little story.

    You mean the 100 percent 1967 edition that was just mailed out in celebration (for the 3rd time this year) of their 40-year history? My infant daughter shredded it to pieces, and I gladly watched.

    Yes, that issue just arrived in my mailbox an hour ago. Nothing like beating this to death. I guess in RS's world, everything old is new again.
