OK, re: the PMs.

I wrote him to say that my only beef was that he might want to reconsider his comments about his bosses. That it was a really bad idea. That led into him basically saying "That helps, but if you call me an asshole, I'm calling you one back, etc.etc."

There were one or two more, and at some point he got combative, so I just said "Fuck off, then" and I got the above PM title with some not-so-nice words also included.

So it was not one-sided, but it was not ramped up enough to resort to that word.

 

Ah, the pageantry. The camaraderie.

 

That makes me think his boss may not have been nearly as bad as NightOwl made it seem.

 

Say, lono? Where were you several days, and, oh, 11 or 12 pages, or so, ago?

Something like this is probably more along the lines of what NightOwl might have been looking for when he first posted.

The money line is this: "- It has to be between people who genuinely respect each other to begin with."

If a deep respect is there, there's a good chance people can say and get through -- and over -- practically anything. If not, they won't be able to say, or get through much at all together.

Because they won't want to. They don't want to. Not really.
