Wow. I'm a big believer in giving new shows a chance ... but that was cringe-worthy at times.

Would make a much better show if the "me" in the title was the Gekko in your sig!

  3. I enjoyed the first episode until midway through, when it began to be about idiots, remarkably, without changing any of the cast members.
Workplace comedy? Buddy comedy? Who-gets-laid-first comedy? Decide the way you're going to suck and stick to it.

Sex in the City goes to the Billy Goat.

I was really disappointed to find out the show is produced by a woman...I wanted to believe that only a clueless guy (who had never been around women sportswriters, or sportswriters in general) could come up with something so trite.

Now I keep thinking about that hilariously stupid 'I saw Shawn Green's goodies in the locker room!' column by the non-sports female writer. This is the same thing.

At least they didn't have her bring the hors d'ourves and cute top to the pressbox.

Jamie Tarses is the female behind the show. Tarses being the former ABC exec, who is now being played by Amanda Peet on Studio 60 and was the one who greenlighted Sports Night.
Anyway, I've been to Wrigley's press box, I don't remember it being so new and shiny looking. I remember it more as being a dump. But by her being a Cubs writer, it at least takes a stab at why she doesn't have to work at night.
It could have been much, much worse. So for those who saw it, what would you change to make it better?
At least once in show about newspaper reporters, I'd like to hear the line, "I can't, I'll be on the road for work. I'll call you when I get back to town." or "I can't, I have to cover a game tonight."

For starters, I'd like to see that the writer understands that a sports journalist doesn't have to use a sports metaphor to explain everything surrounding her/his life.

This reminded me of Sex in the City, too. I gave that one a try a few times because my wife loved it. Never liked it, and yet I still think it was better than My Boys.

My girlfriend and I kept laughing about the Match.com references .. no they're not a sponsor of the show or anything .. that's not completely transparent.

I wonder what doctors think of Grey's Anatomy.

Frankly, if this were doctors.com, that WOULD be a germane topic.

Check the board title again, chief.

As I said, there ought to be a law.

Hmmm. I wonder what lawyers would say about that.
