My editing pet peeve - what's yours?

It's not like you're going to see 4 p.m. then throw down the paper and make a dash to your car. Friday is right there.

And, Shot, I think it probably flows smoother to you -- and me, too -- because it's how we've been programmed to read and write it. Even the words "Time, date, place" flows better to me than "date, time, place."

And it's way too early to release the time in your writing.

That's definitely a possibility, but I have seen copy editors who overedit. Hell, I used to when I first started at my shop.

 

dyepack is going to hate me for saying this, but that was funny.

 

and i've watched one too many oversensitive shitty writer come down the block.

 

I like big 72-point numbered lists in copy, too.
