Yes, it was (Hmm..probably should ask if I'm one of the idiots before I agree with that).

I see your point. My problem comes up when people's opinions are dismissed as jealousy or sexism or bigotry without really knowing where that person is coming from.

Rarely is somebody as blatantly wrong as the goofball assuming I was a Republican, but I find it extremely frustrating when somebody dismisses my opinion as a character flaw when they don't know me well enough to make that assumption.

I have plenty of flaws, but I doubt any of the people on this board really knows what they are. Well, except for writing overly long-winded posts. Lots of you know that by now.

You are soooo not an idiot, outofplace. You are a far more reasonable person than I, and that is a good thing. ;)

Why, thank you. Though there are definitely times I can more than match you in being unreasonable ;)

I don't think it counts if the person is dead. Then it's more of an honor.

What a stupid-assed point. If you had taken on the name of, say, Ernest Hemingway, nobody would say boo. But to take on the name of a living sports journalist on a sports journalist board is a telltale sign of just how clueless you are.

And it undermines every point you try to make.
