My favorite new aspect to the new SJ...

Probably my favorite thing is that the site still has the same distinctive, easy-to-read-from-afar SportsJournalists.com logo that lets anyone passing by know that you're not working.

OK, Douglas. Found another difference.
Old board: If someone changed their name from... oh, lets say from Bitter Young Hack to Bitter Young Thingyhead, (Or I am the Gof of Hellfire) the board would show the new name, but by clicking on the profile you could see their original name.
Now, click on the profile and you'd see both names the same, Bitter Young Thingyhead....

Will cause definite confusion -- especially when we post the next pornstar/Ron Mexico name generator thread or our next BYH tribute

 

Slappy, that was actually phased out in SMF 1.1.

 

Worked fine this morning... seriously...even if you changed your name, the user name (when you clicked on the profile) always stayed the same... I know this because I wanted to know who the hell Holly Golightly was... what I see now isnt what I saw this morning...

 

Yeah, and you were on SMF 1.0, not 1.1

 

That has the potential for big-time confusion. We'll lose track of Longshanks forever now.

 

Although Douglas did all the hard work today, I just got done matching up the background color of the SJ logo to the background color of that frame. I am so proud of myself!

 

Well, that's not good. There are enough name-changers around here (not that I'm going to name names Longshanks, Chris_L, IJAG, The Future Mrs. Doc, BitterYoungThingyhead, flaghokie) that sometimes we needed that to keep track.

Agreed. I'd really like to know who, exactly, is posting a particular message. Either that, or I'd just as soon eliminate the ability to tweak your screenname.
