Thanks for the support. The police came this morning and found fingerprints on the outside of the window and they said that if the prints are in the system, they'll get them.

Maybe losing my Xbox will turn out to be a positive thing--after all, Madden 08' was beginning to run my life. Now I might experience sunlight or better yet, touch a girl.

If only not playing a game would bring on the women. I've learned that it takes much more than that, and I'm not into all that "effort" thing people keep mentioning. I'll stick to something at which I excel -- Madden '96.

While living in a fairly nice part of London last semester my apartment was broken into and my computer was stolen. Before the incident I felt completely safe in my neighborhood, for the months after I became extremely paranoid when walking down the street at night.

A friend got a bunch of shit stolen once, including a very nice, very expensive winter coat.
A week later he got a thank you note from the thief. Told my friend he loved the coat and would take good care of it. Said it fit perfectly.

Another bud had a break-in, had a bunch of stuff stolen. And the thief topped it off by taking a massive dump on the living room carpet.

Some nice fucking people in this world.

Guess the Steelers aren't paying Najeh Davenport enough ...

On a slightly more serious note, I've been lucky in that it hasn't happened in my adult life. But growing up, our house was broken into once stateside and another time overseas ... the latter shouldn't have come as a shock since we were in a third world country where the president had spent years robbing his own country blind.

The mental mountain that follows is sometimes worse than the physical stuff that's actually stolen. It stinks. Hang in there, Rick ...

We had a HS cross country coach who in his younger days, used to break into houses and take dumps on the carpet.
    Cops called him "The Shitter."
We couldn't stand the guy because he was one of those coaches who said if he ever won the lottery, he would buy the paper and "Every team would get a headline."
My house was broken into my senior year of HS, turned out it was a neighbor kid down the street.
I hope all ends well RV.

What, that guy was your coach?

What a fuckin' leader he was. And everyone knew his story?

I'd think it would be easy to tell that guy to fuck off. Easy and fun for all.

Rick, I'm venturing it's someone who had been in your house before and knew exactly when you'd be gone and what to look for.

Moddy, did your friend do something in a past life to deserve anywhere near that much bad karma?

Agree here. That's why I say look hard and long at the guys around your place, Rick.

Skeezers like that usually look in the area close to home.

    I approve this break-in.

Similar thing happened to me in college. Came back from Christmas break and half the rooms in the dorm, including mine, had been broken into. I had a TV and stereo in the closet (a little shelf system, nothing fancy), but fortunately nothing was stolen.
To this day, I'm not sure if I should have felt relieved or insulted.
