Better yet, go eat in the real Calabash, tucked just inside the N.C. border. (For those who don't know, it's a town which lent its name to a style of lightly-fried seafood.)

Murrell's Inlet has some better-than-average eats off the main drag, although names escape me at the moment. A good place to hunt for she-crab soup, the local delicacy.

Do the Ripley's museum downtown to get your mandatory dose of kitsch. Right at the heart of the beach was the Pavillion, a nice mismash of old-time amusements that would probably tug at the heartstrings of a Jersey guy. Of course, it got torn down because 3 billion condo developments just weren't enough. :-[

The Crazy Horse is a wonderful establishment. And the House of Blues is about a mile down the street and is a decent place to see a show.

Sam Snead's Grill in the north part of town has a great prime rib sandwich.
might went to get some piercings and some tats downtown.

There's another golf themed restaurant up north - museum included with some neat stuff - that has the best prime rib I've had in my life. Fred Flintstone style. I will think of the name eventually.

My son came back from Myrtle once with pierced nipples. This is while he still lived here so I was within my legal rights to kick his ass for days on end.
