NASCAR running thread

I've heard Menard and one of his cousins were coming up in late models at the same time, and the cousin was clearly the better driver ... but Paul had daddy's money and the cousin had to scrape for sponsors.

Jimmie Johnson was wrong. He started it by getting into Busch, who bumped him back. I couldn't understand why Johnson was complaining.

Then you don't watch a lot of racing. :)

Why, then, explain it to us.

IJAG, I watch plenty of racing. Johnson initiated the contact. That's why I don't get his complaint. I don't dislike Johnson but I think he got this one wrong.

Because while Jimmie runs mostly clean, he doesn't seem to understand how his racing can be viewed sometimes. If he's racing for his spot on the track, then they should respect it. Not everyone does, and he doesn't understand that.

That's why he was complaining. Because he felt he could initiate contact and Kurt should just take it.

If Johnson can initiate the contact then he has to understand that others can reply in kind. He had room on the outside and chose to try and nudge Busch down the track. That in itself is OK but Busch has a right to resist it, which he successfully did. These two do have quite a rivalry, which is not bad for the sport.

All I know, after seeing the pictures today of Keselowski's ankle, is that he is the Bobby Baun of NASCAR. Wow.

If NASCAR wants to reach out to more women, Pamprin should sponsor that 48 car.

    A few notes:

-I've had Harvick and Kausemallski in my fantasy lineup all year. Nice to see the 29 being a bit more consistent. And Brad? Wow. (I had 208 points on my Stock Car Challenge lineup this week)

-I'd pay $20 to watch Boris snap Greg Whiffle in half. Anyone who had Whiffle in their fantasy lineup at any race other than like Pocono or Michigan would love to see that too.

-Jeff Burton. Seriously, WTF? Poor guy's snakebit this year. Dreamt last night he was driving a start-and-park for Tommy Baldwin.

I didn't see it on camera, but one story said Biffle punched Said while he was still in the car then ran. Biffle gets on TV doing an interview about how Said was all this and that. Yeah, I'd be pretty irate if you came up and sucker punched me, too.

In the exchange I saw, Boris had his helmet on when he tried to get to Biffle.
