Can someone answer me this? When did NASCAR become boxing, or the WWE?

Seriously, every single fucking race has at least two drivers trying to get into a fight with each other. Are these legitimate "I hate you" fights, or is some network executive nudging these guys towards each other?

If you want me to watch on a consistent basis, cut down the races to three hours or so, cut the season down so they don't run into each other, and stop the stupid manufactured bullshit, which includes naming every fucking sponsor in an interview. I'm not buying a product because some guy can drive a car 200 miles an hour.

    End of rant.

Baron, a lot of the NASCAR drama is TV generated, but have you ever been to a Saturday night dirt track?

    Race
    stop and fight
    drink beer
    finish the race
fight some more, this time with lug wrenches
bring out the next class and repeat

where did you see Biffle interviewed? I saw no interviews, and there were no quotes from him. Usually the PR folks will transcribe TV interviews.

And "every single fucking race?" Uh, no.

That's an interesting thought. ESPN didn't hesitate to promote the Jimmie Johnson-Kurt Busch tiff in an ad.

Actually I have, a couple of times. Didn't see any fights. Maybe it was the track management, but it reminded my of minor-league baseball, where they were trying to make it fun for the kiddies.

And IJAG, it seems to me that fights have become a regular part of the show. Which is why the Yarborough/Allisons fight was so famous, because it was rare at the time. Now, every week you have two guys getting trying to get at it each other.

The Yarborough/Allison fight was also famous because most of the East Coast was stuck inside because of a blizzard.

My dad was a dirt track driver in the early 60s. One Saturday night, he was leading the race and got spun out by an arch-rival in turn 3.

As Dad got out of the car, my grandfather told him "if you don't go over and whip his ass right now, I'm a-gonna whip yours." Dad followed orders.

So yeah, fighting and racing's been around much longer than when Cale and the Allisons mixed it up at Daytona.

You don't see fights after every race on the cookie-cutter tracks. But the road courses have turned into must-see TV for NASCAR. Go figure. There really should be a road race in the Chase.

Too laborious, as that would involve waking up the drivers and the fans.

That's why the next track that's built needs to be a Wilkesboro layout but with Texas' grandstands around it. I don't know why someone hasn't figured this out.

In the case of Said vs. Biffle, I'd lean more toward legitimate. Mainly because Said isn't a regular in the series. What would he, or NASCAR, gain at this point by promoting a feud that won't pick up until next year at Sonoma?
