So NASCAR finally decided to step up and send Shrub home for the weekend. Good for them.

Would it qualify as ironic that Richard Childress benefited since his grandson now leads by 20 with one race left, and since his Cup driver won the race?
I watched the replay. WTF was Busch thinking?

That was beyond blatant. But the Nascar-conspiracy-theorist in me wonders if this would have happened if there hadn't been a high-profile death in racing recently. I mean, if Edwards couldn't get parked for punting Keselowski at Atlanta, I didn't think anyone could.

That had to be a consideration. Also isn't Busch on double secret probation for the Childress and Harvick stuff?

Also ... maybe I'm being way too analytical, but to do something like that on a track where one guy in the series has died (granted, many years ago) and a couple weeks after another racer was killed ... a high-speed place, going right into the corner ... seems amazingly disrespectful of the danger of the sport. But that's just me.

I'd like to think Nascar would still have parked him without Wheldon's death, but that may be giving them too much credit. Parking an A-list guy for a Cup race...didn't think they had it in them.

Of course, Nascar also has a good race for the title, for a change. They surely didn't want the focus on Busch to last more than one day.

Scott Speed tweeted that word around the garage was that KYBu was suspended for the rest of the season. Take it fwiw...

They said they'd "revisit" it, so we'll see. Still hilarious that on Kyle's "apology" letter, Hornaday was about the 1,000,000th person he apologized to.

Would NASCAR have had the stones to do it if he was in contention for the championship? I doubt it. I think the Wheldon death had a lot to do with it. As previously stated, when they didn't do anything to Edwards, that was the nail in the coffin in terms of credibility. I am the first to be in favor of hard racing and 'rubbin is racin' when you're fighting for position but to just drive someone into a the wall, plow them after the flag or to come back out on the track, drive around the bottom until you can line a guy up is not just hard racing.

I dared to be great and put McDowell on my fantasy team, so I could heavy up on Roush and Kasey K.

The one Mrs. KyBu put on her site was pretty funny, too. Almost like "pleeeeeaze don't suspend my husband past this weekend...pleeeeeeaze..."

If Gibbs is forced to let him go -- by sponsors, by NASCAR -- does anyone pick him up? He's toxic right now. And he also was dropped by Hendrick for Junior the Backmarker.

What I don't get is how an ass like KyBu can keep on getting and keeping sponsors, yet a class act like Matt Kenseth doesn't have a presenting sponsor next year.
