NASCAR running thread

Fryer was on quite the roll on Twitter this week taking shots at IndyCar. Some scorn was definitely deserved, both with unhappy owners acting like CART children and Bernard publicly talking about it. But some of Fryer's tweets this week seemed unprofessional IMO.

BTW, AP is apparently going to rewrite the "Will Earnhardt Jr. finally break his winless streak this weekend?" every week until it happens. Here is the latest example:

Can't wait to see the Sonoma version because he is ALWAYS a top contender there. He's en fuego there, at least when driving a Corvette. ;D

The 13-car pileup doesn't surprise me nearly as much as the fact that Joe Nemechek was in it. I thought he was telling NASCAR stories to his great-grandchildren.

 

He had a "Front Row" seat for that accident.

Just not real thrilling when the 48 car is so much better than anything else on the track today. It's like watching him doing hot laps right now.

Busch, who is on NASCAR probation as a result of actions last month at Darlington Raceway, was asked if the probation impacted how he raced Saturday.

“It refrains me from beating the s--- out of you right now because you ask me stupid questions,” Busch said. “But since I’m on probation, I suppose that’s improper to say, as well.”

I don't know who Bob Pockrass is but I wonder what Kurt would have done if he had responded, "Really? Beat the shit out of me?"

*reporter drops tape recorder and notepad, squares off*

"Okay, let's go, you fucking toolbag."

I guess Pockrass would certainly have gotten fired. But Kurt might well have shit his pants and that would almost be worth losing your job over.

Even better would be if Kurt, feeling his oats, actually took a poke at Pockrass and then literally had the shit beaten out of him.
