I think of it as six weeks of RaceBuddy starting with a really shitty race. :D

So it goes to the highest bidder?

    THAT is well played. :)

  4. THIS ... This.. This...

    That race was god awful.

I HATE TNT's flag-to-flag coverage. I wonder if they worked in more commercials than they would during a normal telecast? My guess is yes. I hated it. Next time, I'll just listen to the race on the radio.

I do like Kyle's commentary ...the rest ... meh.

As for the Dinger's suspension? I can't wait to find out what was behind the 11th hour move by NASCAR? What gives? The team had no prior notice before 6 p.m. on Race Day?
Either something happened to force the issue or NASCAR dropped the ball.

The timing of the announcement needs to be addressed. If the test was done a week ago, why did it take so long to render the verdict? He was allowed at the track and went through practice and qualifying, dang near made it to driver introductions.

Good point. If Nascar's going for maximum embarrassment for the driver, that was the way to do it. Though that didn't necessarily make the league look good either.

Can't imagine they'd go to all that trouble on race day for a tire changer.

According to an interview with Penske before the IndyCar race, his people were told around 4 p.m., four hours before the start of the race ... if Hornish didn't get to the track until a few minutes before the start of the race, then somebody at Penske Racing did some major foot dragging before getting Sam on a plane ... a King Air 200 turboprop can make the flight from Charlotte to Daytona Beach in two hours (I know this because I've been on several flights there), and a biz jet can make it in even less time ...

Jeremy Mayfield is hitching down to Daytona. Or Vero. Not really sure. Might make it next week. Might not. Fuck it. He's in a clump of shrubs off the 95 outside Lumberton.

NASCAR: Not good with drug stuff.

Well, you COULD read about what happened.

    http://www.nascar.com/news/120708/shornishjr-cup-substitute-driver/index.html

    1. He was on live TV so he couldn't answer the call.
    2. He waited 45 minutes for the plane

So if the show ended at 4:30, and the drive took him 20 minutes, let's call that 5. And that's if it was IMMEDIATE. 5:45 plane gets there, call a 5:55 departure. He landed at 7:26. That's not terrible.

Nah, that'd be too simple, IJAG ... :)

But in reading the story, I have to wonder if Penske's people contacted Rusty Wallace, whose charter service operates out of Concord (which is where I'm assuming Hornish flew out of, considering his drive time), or any of the charter services that operate from there BEFORE sending Penske's jet ... they got very lucky in getting Sam there ...

Yeah, I was assuming the Concord airport, because that's where the private jets are. Did Penske's jet come from Daytona? I didn't even look to see if Roger was there. Or was it in Toronto, where he was today for the IndyCar race?

    Either way, yikes.

In the shrubs outside Lumberton would be a good place for a meth addict. He wouldn't be alone.
