I think we've uncovered the plot for "Weekend at Bernie's 3" right here.

Yeah, this is just politicians grandstanding. It's not like they are "spending money" on sports. They are given so much money for recruiting advertising and that's as good a way to spend it as any. I honestly don't know how much benefit the Army gets out of NASCAR sponsorship, but if you go to an NHRA event, they are getting their money worth (at at a about a fifth of the cost, too).

  4. So why was the race not on the radio yesterday?
I was on the road and could not find it on the usual stations - or anywhere else on the dial for that matter.

    Jeff Novitzky probably knows.

It was on the radio. I listened to it. Might have been on a different radio station in your area than other NASCAR races because it's syndicated by IMS Radio Network instead of MRN or PRN.

  7. I wondered if there was Indy network, which does not exist where I live.
Oh well, I missed listening to a stunning broadcast of Jeff Gordon not winning again.

    Thnx.

So it sounds like adding races to the weekend didn't exactly boost Brickyard 400 attendance?
I realize NASCAR will never leave Indy willingly because of the prestige and tradition associated with the track, but the track simply isn't a good fit for stock cars. Of course, if NASCAR was concerned about the quality of the on-track product, the schedule would look radically different.

What NASCAR needs to boost attendance is to get some rising young stars moving up to the big series. Drivers like...Jon Wes Townley?

    Fuck.

I'm not a "no one should get a second chance" kind of girl. But the fact a driver as objectively bad at his job as JWT can still drive in NASCAR after a DUI is embarrassing.

    Daddy's money, indeed.

I had an Avis rental on vacation last week with XM Radio. Could listen to all the MLB channels and some other extras, but for some reason it didn't get Nascar Channel 90 (or whatever it was). And on a 750-mile drive home Sunday, I was actually bored enough to want to listen to the taxicabs at IMS.

Brad Sherman (?) and Buckshot Jones, albeit sans DUIs, would like a word with you.
