Toronto at 340 million? If they could put out a better team on the ice so I could believe the teams market value is that.

Don't forget, it gave us the word 'unsuspend.'

The Wirtzes have really devalued the franchise over the last 15 years. It used to be, pre-Jordan of course, the Hawks would sell out most games, and the Bulls would take the leftovers. Almost 10 years post-Jordan, and it's still the Bulls selling out most games, and the Hawks taking the leftovers. Plus, you have no good TV deal you're buying into, and radio has been reduced to buying time, I believe.

However, given Chicago's love of hockey, someone could buy the Hawks at a bargain and come out with an incredible investment. Just the fact the new owner wasn't the Wirtzes would help. The question is, though, whether Wirtz has eliminated a generation's worth of hockey fans in Chicago.

Don't the Wolves do well attedance wise? I don't think the hockey fans have been eliminated, Maybe more specifically NHL fans.

The Wolves do fairly well, actually. Probably 6,000-10,000 per game, depending on the night, great for AHL hockey. The guy who owns the team is rumored to be interested in buying the Cubs. He does a great job keeping things fan friendly. He also made his money, originally, selling rolling papers.

It no longer appears this will happen. Craig Leipold apparently has shut down Jim Balsillie's bid to buy the team.
