Nashville Predators moving to Canada? NOPE! Sorry, Canucks (and KC!)...

Geez, as others say, you are an asshole sometimes. Smasher didn't even defend Bettman. He just told it like it is, or at least the way it appears to be. He didn't argue why Canada shouldn't get another team, just that the NHL appears not to want one there. And you go off the deep end. Fuck.

Hmm, I was thinking that was more like you.

Wow, now we got one of the Moderators in on this.

I understand what Smasher's point is. He's made it about 1,000 times and every time acts as if he's telling us something new

Oh, and FH, if you had read the endless posts on this subject over the years, Smasher's constant snarky remarks deserve any shots he gets in return.

Not unprovoked, it doesn't. Why bait him if you think he's going to eventually make comments anyway?

Leopold was acting on Bettman's orders. He didn't have a say in anything because Gary had him by the short and curlies. You don't have to be Woodward & Bernstein to figure that out.

Why did I bait him? Because it sped up the response time. And it was a hanging curveball. And I like yanking his chain when it comes to this topic.

BTW, I don't see Smasher on here whining about it.

And bargaining in bad faith had nothing to do with that?

Balsillie has nothing to fear but Balsillie himself.

(And possibly the iPhone, but that's a different arena.)

    Phoenix back to Winnepeg.

    Carolina back to Hartford.

    Tampa Bay to Quebec.

    Anaheim to Houston.

Atlanta to Anchorage (Yes. There's a lot of oil money up there.) ;)

And dropping. As the fluke Stanley Cup continues to recede in memory, they'll continue to lose 2-4,000 off their average attendance every year.

And people wonder why some posters have completely abandoned this web site.

Look in the mirror, asshole. you'd be one of the reasons.

Back to the topic at hand.

The NHL may have no say in the matter if Balsillie decides to go after Boots' 27% share in the Preds

    http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080606.wspt-preds-financing-06/GSStory/GlobeSportsHockey/home

Asked if the league had any rights or ability to work with the trustee in determining who can buy Del Biaggio's share, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly replied in an e-mail: "As a result of a bankruptcy filing, the ultimate disposition of the asset will be in the hands, initially of the Trustee, but ultimately of the bankruptcy court. Everything the Trustee proposes to do will be subject to approval of the bankruptcy court."

If Bettman were smart, which history has proven otherwise, the league would be better off trying to contain and work with Mr. Blackberry instead of marginalizing him. He ain't gonna go away and as the saying goes, don't get mad, get even.

    I love Gary's "business model".

Ignore someone who wants to put a team in the largest hockey market in the world and settle for a secondary or tertiary US market.
