I'm sure they have some kid on preps who will be on UF this year.

I'd like to hear who they have on staff who could fill the national gig.

I've heard they've been telling people a GA hire will be made to replace whoever they put on UF.

Probably can't get all four done by the season. They're good. They're not THAT good.

Fair enough. I wonder though if they can't get the four spots in by, say December, would those jobs ever be filled?

A couple of questions here. What are/were the open spots? I know Fowler left, and he was the UF guy. There was a Magic spot open a while back. Filling it internally, would that mean there'd be a prep spot or something available soon?

  6. I full expected 20 people to have either called me an idiot or a troll when I checked this thread again today.

I just genuinely wanted to know why the top tier of jobs posted on here get so few responses when a $15K gig in the middle of nowhere gets 40 replies. Thank you all kindly for not calling me an idiot or a troll. Yet.

They lost Tania Ganguili (?) to Jax and Jags job, Barry Forbis to Cincy and SE spot, Andrea Adelson to ESPN and national job and then Fowler to the Vikes job.

Tim has posted a version of Tania's job and Andrea's job here. The others have not posted yet, at least not here.

If this a "national" college football job? Sounds suspiciously like a back-up job. (I give them credit for hiring, though, that's for sure.)

This is not a "backup" job.

The description sure doesn't read like a backup job, that's for sure. Sounds like whoever is lucky enough to get this one is going to have a ton of responsibility and opportunity to grow, to really make this position their own.

Tim, they just don't trust that "newbie" status of yours.
Seriously guys, he isn't going to jerk you around. If you are interested in the job and think you have a shot, apply. If not, don't. It's really that easy. This is a hell of gig at a good paper w/ a top-notch editor; what's there to question?

Tim has been standup and straight-forward on this board. It's definitely not a backup job. And I'll echo with all of what MU said.
