Nationals Fans Attacked by Free Sausages

I was at a basketball game years back where they tried this with hot dogs. The dogs stayed intact, but the packaging didn't. I saw one fire out of the cannon, and the hot dog and bun shot out of the wrapper at an altitude of 100 feet and continued into the upper deck. The foil wrapper, meanwhile, fluttered down to earth.
I'm amazed no one got Jenna Jamesoned (i.e., took a wiener in the face).

 

Opening day in Class A ball, eight or nine years ago, the home team did something similiar. The dog came unwrapped and separated from the bun.

The beat writer included it in his story -- since the team made an atrocious number of errors -- with this gem of a sentence:

"The naked wiener landed on a frieghtened woman's lap."

 

Nats fans are all cried out at this point, I think.
