What happened to this thread since I last checked it? How does Haiti have anything to do with a sportswriter covering spring training?

I thought that this was about National Public Radio.

It doesn't.

I never suggested anyone stop attending movies, going out to dinner, buying videogame systems, patronizing prostitutes or bowling.

What I said is when I have money to give away, to donate to something I would find many more worthy causes than sending a writer to spring training.

And nobody's DONATING to Zuckerman. He's providing special content to people who pay.

/I feel dirty for even coming back to this ridiculousness
//Probably should get rid of my internet connection, because ... you know ...

So is your point that you are morally superior to anyone who gave money to the sportswriter?

Be honest.

I'm stating my view. It's really not as complicated as you're trying to make it.

If you want to give him money, go ahead.

What if Adam Dunn gives him money?

Presumably none of his coverage would exist without donations. Yet non-donors have access to the bulk of the coverage. This is not a subscription-type offering.

Presumably none of the work I do would be available without newspaper subscribers. Yet almost everything I write is available to non-subscribers.

Maybe you can do us all a favor and take the money you're spending on your internet connection and send it to Haiti.

Is there a fixed fee for subscriptions to your paper, or is it a freewill offering?

You're really going to continue this asinine argument, aren't you?
