Well, the Lakers are 3-0 in close-out games. ;)

Hey, I'll take Jerry West over that love-fest Bill Russell filmed with Kevin Garnett. Good God, that made me nauseous.

Man, this is going to get really ugly if the C's get there. Just please don't defend Vuvajic (sp?) and we might be OK.

The spread was 7. I hear Tim Donaghy was in the stands screaming "SHOOT IT!"

Vujacic is the man, baby!! He's our Danny Ainge. See, now you know how we felt in L.A. in the 80's. :D
And that late shot by Sasha, well, I know I'm giving him way too much credit here, but the Lakers have this promotion with Taco Bell. If the Lakers score 100 or more points, and hold their opponent UNDER 100, then fans can turn in their tickets for free tacos aat Taco Bell. That 3-pointer made it 100-92. And, watching almost every Laker game this season, it often became a big deal for the bench guys to reach that goal for the fans.

Sasha's annoying, but of course if he's on your team you like him. He's no more annoying than James Posey jumping up and down on the sidelines since the first game of the year, doing a little Hulk pose, and generally being cocky despite the fact he's, well, James Posey.

I'd guess that Sasha is probably more hated league-wide than Posey, but your point is taken. I have no problem with having a guy to hate on the other team, it usually means he's doing something right. And I'm sure I'd like Sasha if he was on my team. But the 3 at the buzzer was indefensible, I'm sorry.

Speaking of guys to hate, on the opposite end of that, I like that some of the Pistons spoke up about the Wallace-Garnett lovefest that has been going on all series. I get that you have mutual respect and maybe you're friends, but keep it off the floor until after the series. How can you hug before a big game when you're fired up or after a hard-fought game you just lost? Plus, the fact that Garnett has pretty much had his way with Wallace this series makes it that much worse. I don't even like the pregame hand shakes/fist pounds before the tap. We can be friends after the game/series; there are no friends on the court.

Agree, and I had to live through the Magic-Isiah kissing. That's why I never have a problem when players don't stick around, even after a series, to give handshakes. I just watched a video of Game 6 of the 91 Western Conference Finals, when Magic threw the ball down the court against the Blazers at the end of the game. The second that ended, he was sprinting off the court, hand raised in victory. he wasn't hanging around to give props to Kevin Duckworth.

And Bird didn't give Magic a hug after tearing the Lakers' heart out in Game 7 in 84. Of course the players were just trying to get off the court to avoid getting killed by the Boston hooligans, but still.
