This belongs high on the list of Top 10 Most Ridiculous Sentences Ever Written On SportsJournalists.com.
"Regular season records be damned." Yes, let's throw that evidence out, along with anything else that might disprove your assertion. Geez, man. Do you even watch any other teams besides Boston?

I don't agree with what BB said, but just keep in mind that plenty of Celtics critics have thrown out regular season records as well. This team isn't, as some have said, a "fraud." They showed all season what they're made of. I'd call the first round series against Atlanta as more of a "fraud" for a lack of a better word, because that was the worst the team played all year. I think they returned to form in the Detroit series.

Yes, I do watch plenty of basketball. But in the postseason, Atlanta clearly played better and with more passion than the lifeless, undisciplined Denver team which had no chemistry or unity. The Hawks have a slew of athletic, young guys who matched up well against the Celtics. Like I said, the Cavs have the most talented player in the league and some guys stepped up for them. Carlos Boozer especially and nearly every Jazz player were pretty terrible in both rounds of the playoffs. The Pistons = the Spurs, not much of a seperation there this year.

The Lakers have had a tougher road, but it's not as big of a margin as some claim.

Wow, I've been out of the loop for a few days ... and not just because my Pistons threw up another shithouse brick when it mattered the most. Congrats to Boobie and the Bostonian fans for moving on btw.

    But onto the Finals...

I was impressed with Boston in the Detroit series, but that doesn't mean I think they returned to any sort of dominant form by any stretch. Detroit hit its usual mental wall, and Boston did what it had to do to dispose of them.
I think L.A. wins at least one of the first two and takes this thing in six. I don't think any Celtic can even come close to slowing down Kobe, and I really think Gasol gets the advantage in the post matchup -- even though I think I'd rather just put Perkins on him because if they try and stick him on Odom then a nightmare would ensue.
But if they go head up -- KG and Gasol -- I give it to Gasol. I really do. Garnett ate up Rasheed, but that really came as no surprise to anyone. Gasol would've done the same.

In the end, this won't live up to the unfair and ridiculous hype, and LA takes it in six.
