Oh, I can see why you loved him. I, for one, hated the bastard. I could never understand how they let that Celtic homer call the NBA Finals games in the 80s on CBS with Dick Stockton. The only good thing he'd say about the Lakers was "They've got grit!" and he'd say that, ironically, through gritted teeth. Hahaha.

By the way, this goes out to bostonbred and Boobie and any other Celtics fans in the house here: As a diehard, longtime Lakers fan, I am absolutely shocked and befuddled as to why everyone is picking the Lakers to win so easily. I'm being straight up, here. I think, 1-5, the Celtics are a better team and defense usually wins out.
I'm not saying I don't think the Lakers have a chance. Any team with Kobe Bryant has a chance. But, a lot of these so-called experts picking the Lakers so easily, it's mind boggling. I don't get it. The Celtics had the best record in the regular season and just took care of business on the road vs. a very good Detroit team. Meanwhile, the Lakers are very young.
Again, it's not that I don't think the Lakers can win. I just don't understand why everyone is picking them in a landslide.

I can't see any way this thing doesn't go six games.

I think LA takes one in Boston, then the Celtics can't get it back to Beantown. Although you'd think Boston's Big 3 alone might be able to stretch it further.

I think they've lost 3 in a row once this year, and that was while Garnett was working back after an injury. I just don't see Boston losing three straight to the same team. I still say seven, but really don't see how it doesn't at least get back to Boston. And this is a decent time to point out that I don't like the 2-3-2 format.

    The 2-3-2 format is absurd.

Agreed, though isn't the media (saving on cross-country travel) the reason they went to that? Not sure.

Not that I needed any more motivation to root against the Lakers (although I'm picking them 4-1), but the SportsCenter clip of Larry Bird telling reporters he's definitely watching the Finals and pulling for the Celtics has solidified my hope that the Celts wins.

If only Larry was suiting up ...

Spoken like the true fanboi who only watches C's games and claims to have vast knowledge of the entire league.
